Once you have completed a tennis match in July or come off of the beach in August, all you really want is a big glass of cold water. You must admit, when you are really truly thirsty, there isn’t anything that tastes more refreshing than a nice, tall, cold glass of water. However, if you take a big gulp of cold water and it tastes bad, it is a really bad experience. Have you ever wondered what makes your water taste bad? Well, the main reason for bad tasting water is the presence of microscopic particles. If you look closely, you can actually see these particles when you pour water from the faucet. It appears as cloudy water.

There are a variety of ways to treat this. Some people will choose to treat bad tasting water by adding something to just mask the bad taste. Others choose to add water tablets that neutralize the taste, but this only covers up the problem; it doesn’t fix the problem. The most effective way to eliminate the bad taste in the water is to install a water filtration system in your home. An in-house water filtration system will remove all of the bad taste and odor particles AND it will also remove contaminated particles such as chlorine, lead, herbicides, pesticides and other harmful contaminants.

Crystal Clear Water Treatment offers a complimentary water test for your home’s water source that can help you identify why your water has that bad taste. It only takes about 15 minutes, and once completed, we can offer solutions to treat your water problems if any are identified. Call us today to set up an appointment.

To lear more about water filtration, visit us on the web at www.crystalclearwaterva.com.

Also we would like to tell you that we have two locations for your convenience. One in Richmond and a second office in Fredericksburg.

How many things can you think of that are free these days? Not many. Did you know that you can get a free water analysis from Crystal Clear Water Treatment? Yes, it is absolutely free. If you have ever looked at a glass of water poured from your tap and wondered what was floating around in it, we can tell you.

Frequently, you will read or hear about drinking water in the news. Even though your community’s drinking water supply meets EPA Primary Drinking Water Standards, your drinking water can still contain contaminants and impurities. Whether your water comes from a public source or even your own backyard well, there can still be some real concerns. Actually, the main source of water contamination can come from your own home’s pipes and not the water source at all. As water moves through your pipes, unwanted chemicals, minerals, and other pollutants are often picked up resulting in your water becoming contaminated. In some cases, you may even notice an unpleasant odor and/or bad taste.

Identifying your water problems is not so easy, frequently the problems are not visible or not readily noticeable. If you have any concerns or even a little curiosity, we hope you will contact Crystal Clear Water Treatment for a free in-home water analysis. We are able to identify potential problems with your drinking water and recommend a suitable solution. Again, this entire process is completely free to you and will be done in your home with no inconveniece for you. It will take approximately 30 minutes and at the end you will have a clear understanding of your water quality. If there are issues, we will provide you with a suitable recommendation, and if the water is without real issue, you will then have that peace of mind of knowing you have good quality drinking water. We hope to hear from you soon.

Everyone knows that drinking an adequate amount of water is critical to our survival, but should we worry about whether we get our water from a bottle with a nice label or from the kitchen sink? According to Mr. Benjamin Grumbles, the head of the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s water programs says “It’s an urban myth that bottled water is safer than tap water.”

Many consumers admit to actually drinking both tap water and bottled water. For most people, if you have a filter at home, you probably could not distinguish the taste between the two. Nearly half of bottled water comes from a tap not the artisan springs and beautiful tropical waterfalls as we would like to imagine. In those cases, the water is filtered in many of the same ways as a home water filter works, except on a much larger scale. Chlorine and other contaminants are removed from the water prior to bottling.

If you are still trying to decide between the two, there is no question that tap water is better for the environment. Bottled water is typically packaged in single-use bottles. There are many environmental costs in the production, delivery, and disposal of millions even billions of plastic water bottles annually. Some people have tried to limit their consumption of bottled water because of the impact on the environment not to mention their wallet.

While there will always be a need for bottled water, tap water is a great bargain that you should not overlook. If you have any questions about the quality of the tap water in your home, please call Crystal Clear Water Treatment. We have two locations for your convenience- one in Richmond and a second in Fredericksburg. We will come to your home at no charge to provide you with a water analysis. What is easier or more convenient than that? We come to you and test your water for free. If there are any issues, we can make a recommendation for treatment. If there are no issues, well then you will have that piece of mind knowing you have higher quality tap water and it didn’t cost you a penny to find out and you didn’t even have to leave the comfort of your home.

If you really thought about it, you could probably come up with a couple of reasons to invest in a water filtration system for your home. At Crystal Clear Water Treatment, we can think of ten good reasons:

Clean, filtered water is available throughout the entire home from every water source.

A whole-house water filter improves the healthful qualities of your drinking water.

Chlorine and other chemicals from your water source are no longer released into the air because they are removed as soon as they enter your home’s plumbing system.

Clothes washed in filtered water are cleaner and fresher and no longer have chemicals embedded in the fibers of your clothing.

Dishes will be cleaner when washed with filtered water; soap scum will be significantly reduced.

Feel confident that you are not showering or bathing in chlorinated or contaminated water.

A Whole-house water filter extends the life of your household appliances such as your dishwasher, hot water heater, and washing machine.

A Whole-house water filter is the perfect shower filter because it filters water at low temperatures to remove chlorine and other chemicals.

A Whole-house water filter ensures protection from the carcinogenic effects of chlorine and other potential chemicals found in water.

Installing a whole-house water filter is the last defense in treating the quality of water from municipal water treatment and sanitation systems.

At Crystal Clear Water Treatment, we understand water and the benefits of having clean, filtered water in your home. Call us today for a free water analysis. You get a comprehensive test completed within 30 minutes and you never even have to leave your home. If we find any issues with your water quality, we can offer solutions. If we find your water quality to be fine, then you will have that peace of mind.

Have you ever noticed a slight odor to your water? Some have described having a rotten egg odor. Well there is a legitimate explanation for this odor. This rotten egg smell is actually an indication that you have hydrogen-sulfide gas in your water which is actually a byproduct of decaying matter in a private well. It goes without saying that any water with this smell makes it virtually impossible to drink or cook with and very unpleasant to bath or shower in.

This problem cannot really be tolerated when it exists, but the good news is that it can almost always be corrected. Most companies will correct the sulfur smell by installing a chemical injection system. This system adds regulated amounts of chlorine to the water to sterilize the water and mask the odor. While correcting the smell, it can also create another problem of over-chlorinating the water. When this happens, you will frequently need to add a chlorine removal filter to treat the excess chlorine. It does work, but it requires a lot of steps.

However, there is a much better solution available to you. Crystal Clear Water Treatment uses RainSoft’s patented Oxytech system. The Oxytech is a two-tank system. The first tank oxygenates the water followed by a second tank that is equipped with an iron-fighting media bed to complete the process. RainSoft’s Oxytech system removes hydrogen-sulfide gas from the water without adding chlorine.

If you have any problems or are simply just curious about the quality of your water, call Crystal Clear Water Treatment today. We can quickly schedule an in-home water analysis at not charge. This analysis will take no longer than 30 minutes. If we identify any issues, we can present a treatment plan and if we find that your water quality is good without treatment, then you will have that piece of mind. You will benefit from this knowledge without leaving your home and without spending a dime. So, call us today to schedule an appointment.

Home. Very few places are better or more cherished. There is no place like the comfort and safety of your own home. How well do you know the quality of the air in this most special of places? Are you aware that the air quality inside your home can be 2-5 times WORSE than the air found outside? Many people may believe that their house is cleaner than any other place they travel, but the truth is that ambient air inside your home is vulnerable to the accumulation of dirt, allergens and even bacteria and viruses that you are unaware of.

The vast majority of homes in our country have indoor air quality problems from particle allergens to chemical pollutants, carbon dioxide, humidity and even carbon monoxide. These contaminants can cause respiratory problems, allergic reactions, or even asthma attacks in people of all ages. No wonder air purification systems are starting to gain more and more populatity in the market.

It’s a great solution for family members who are prone to allergies, but even if you don’t suffer from allergy attacks, it is still important to keep air inside your home dust-free and bacteria-free.

Do you know what percentage of your own body is made up of water? Well the answer is approximately 70 percent. Everyone knows that water is vital to our survival, but are you aware of some of the other interesting facts about water? Here are some additional water facts that I think you will find interesting:

A new born baby’s body weight is approximately 80 percent water.

A healthy person can consume about three gallons of water a day.

It is recommended that every person drink at least eight cups of water per day. You can obtain your daily water allowance in all different forms- nearly every food or drink item provides some amount of water to the body.

Too much water however can become dangerous. If you drink too much water or drink it too quickly it can lead to a condition known as water intoxication. This occurs when water dilutes the sodium level in the bloodstream and creates an imbalance of water in the brain. Water intoxication occurs more often in athletes during intense athletic activity.

Caffeinated drinks such as coffee, soft drinks, and tea are made up almost entirely of water. Avoid drinking too much of these beverages and the caffeine can act as a mild diuretic which prevents water from reaching vital parts of the body.

Once a person feels thirsty, he or she has already lost over 1 percent of the body’s total water amount.

Improve the health benefit of your drinking water by installing a water filtration system in your home. Call Crystal Clear Water Treatment and request a free in-home water analysis.

Is your water provided to you by the city or county? If so, then you are drinking chlorinated water. It is common knowledge that chlorine is added to the water supply by cities and municipalities to guarantee bacteria free water for all of your drinking, cooking, cleaning, and bathing needs. It only takes a small amount of chlorine to make your water safe, but for precautionary reasons, most people’s water is actually over-chlorinated. These high levels of chlorine can give your drinking water an unpleasant odor and taste. Additionally, too much chlorine can also cause skin discomfort and burning of the eyes in some sensitive people.

Two ways exist to treat chlorine removal from your home: you can install a sink fitration system or a whole house water filtration system. A sink filtration system is a small unit mounted underneath the sink that provides chlorine-free drinking water and cooking water. In addition to filtering your kitchen water, a whole house water filtration system will also provide chlorine free water for your showers, baths and even washing your clothes.

Crystal Clear Water can perform a complimentary in-home water evaluation that will help you determine which filtration system is best for your home.

I’m not referring to your well or your city water system, but I mean where it REALLY comes from. Did you know that the water we drink is in a constant process of naturally re-cycling?

Water from lakes and rivers, along with moisture from trees and plants is evaporated by the sun and turned into vapor in the atmosphere. It rises and forms into clouds and is then released back into the earth as precipitation in the form of rain, snow, hail and even sleet.

Once the water reaches the earth’s surface it has two possibilities. It will either become surface water or ground water. Surface water runs into rivers and lakes and starts the process again of being evaporated and repeating the water cycle. Ground water is absorbed by the soil and the rocks. So, if you think about it, the water you are drinking has been around for millions of years.

It’s shocking to think that the amount of water on earth today is the same as it was millions of years ago because of the hydro-cycle. The hydro-cycle is never ending as it purifies our water by evaporation (distillation). While this system used to adquately provide plenty of good quality water, with all the modern changes in agriculture and the world’s rise in manufacturing, potentially hazardous materials are constantly being released into our environment and into our water.

Have you ever really thought about the quality of the air or the quality of the water in your home? You just breathe the air and it seems fine, and you use the water and it seems fine. But have ever considered that either or one or both could be contaminated with impurities that could potentially make you sick or at the least not be good for you? Typically, we have all taken for granted these things and we really can’t do that anymore. Contaminants in both our water and our air seem unavoidable. I’m certain that your communities’ water supply meets the EPA Primary Drinking Water Standards, but your drinking water can still contain impurities that exist outside of the control of your city’s water supplier. The air circulating throughout your home becomes contaminated by multiple sources that you can’t prevent.

We do have a solution for you to address both your air and your water. Contact Crystal Clear Water and take control of these important components of your home. We can help you identify problems with your drinking water and recommend a suitable solution for your home environment. Likewise, we will also offer solutions to improve the air quality within your home as well.

Reap the benefits of clean water and clean air in your home. Crystal Clear Water Treatment offers both an in-home water analysis and an in-home air analysis- complimentary of course. Call either one of our convenient offices to schedule an appointment with absolutely no obligation.
